she can't hear him anymore,
their distance is too much
grown apart by lack of contact
the silence spread like a desert's dust.

his face, evaporates from her sight,
the hallucination dies.
she sees nothing left but the horizon ahead,
the reality hits and she start to cry.

replaying memories in her head,
like images on a film.
his last words play over and over,
it's not enough to save her will.

it isn't over, she likes to think,
though she knows soon,
her life will sink.
her heart will quicken and cease to beat.

running out of time,
the sun's light is draining.
breathing becomes short,
she sees his face one last time,
he disappears as the sky turns black with night.

Without him, she is doomed.
she becomes a lifeless shell.
she can't function properly,
she'll wait, frozen in time,
until his hand warms hers' once more.
